Catching up...

I realize that it has been over a month since I posted. I am not much for blogging lately and I feel about about that. I know I have a few followers and I am sorry that I haven't been keeping up. But...I have been doing things I love, spending with my hubster & my kiddos. Here they are.....
This is my kids today. We spent the day with my friend Jen and her daughter Kaylee.  We went shopping and had dinner. was a really good time. Here the kids are reluctantly getting their picture taken in some of their new digs!  Hey...their mama wanted some pictures.

I have been working on a little scrapbooking/project life!  I try to keep up with my project life within a few weeks.  I haven't been doing much traditional scrapbooking though!

As in the last few posts I have been been doing quite bit more knitting lately.  It just seems to be what I am enjoying and it really seems to help me relax.  I really do enjoy it!  I have finished a pair of socks and I am working on a shawl now.
These are the socks I finished at the end of March. I really like how they turned out!

And now I am working on my Hitchhiker Shawl..
I think it is coming along. I  didn't work on it much this week, but hoping to get some work done on it this weekend!

Mom's Socks

It's been a fun filled weekend. The weather was beautiful this weekend. I think it was in the 60's.  We spent all day Saturday out at the land.  Had our first bonfire, cookout, and S'more fest!  It was fun!  Of course...the S'mores were the best!

On to crafting....I did get some a few of my project life pages done.   I seem to be better keeping up using the project life.    I am still behind, but just ordered pictures to catch me up through this week!  So hopefully I will be getting caught up!

And finally,  my finished socks for February 2014. My goal is to knit 12 pairs, one pair a month for 2014.  So far I am keeping up. I got January and February done and now I am onto March.  But these are my February socks. I made them for my mom since I really hadn't knit her anything yet.
I was very excited to here that they fit her.  she called me the day she got them and sounded very happy so I think she liked them.  Well, I hope she did anyway!

That is pretty much for me this week.  The only other thing is I am starting again with my weight loss. I have ordered 21 day fix and am hoping that gets me back on track.  I have stopped drinking soda.  Today is day 5 with no soda.  For me, that is a really feat!  I am just waiting for my challenge package to get here then I can get started with my weight loss again. I have done good eating wise as well this week but the exercise I am sure will help!

Snow, Snow, Snow

Wow what a crazy snow storm we had here in Virginia yesterday and today!  The school sent the kids home 3 hours early from school yesterday.  So we got home by...oh, 12:30 p.m.  within the next to hours it started snowing.
Before and after picture of my husbands truck.    In less than 24 hours this is what we had!  CRAZY!

My car is small and as you can see it is pretty much buried!  Thankfully I don't have to go anywhere...pretty much everything was closed today!  Schools are closed tomorrow so we won't have to go anywhere!
I got the girls to go outside with me for a little bit.  They lasted a for a bit but not very long.

I think we will be outside for a little bit tomorrow!  Maybe get a bit of shoveling done around my car.  Today we tried to build a snowman but....the snow just wasn't sticking together....kept crumbling.  So we might try tomorrow.

Well if any of you were affected by the snow...stay warm and safe.

Have a great day!

Catching Up

I am so sorry!  I cannot believe it has been almost a month since I have blogged! I know that is terrible.

Here in Virginia we have had some terrible cold weather.  But I guess because of those Polar Vortex's or whatever they are called....everyone in the country has cold weather. I don't think the girls  have had a full week of school since they went back after Christmas.  Of course I am not complaining.  I am absolutely fine with not being out on those roads taking the kids to school or just being out in that cold.  The girls school was cancelled again today so they are here with me all day!  Shawn is working a lot of over-time for work.  He has to work to get certain projects done!  So again...just me and the girls hanging out!

I haven't been doing a lot of scrapbooking or cardmaking.  However I can tell you that I decided to start the Project Life.  I found that I am just not keeping up on scrapbooking and am hoping that will help me keep up with "scrapbooking" this year.  We shall see.  I have the first three weeks of the year that I am working on.  I bought a few of the Project life kits and am storing them like this!

It is in a plastic case I found at Lowes.  Then it has a lid. It is perfect because I can put the lid on it and take it with me to a scapbooking day, or just move it around my scrap area with no problem.  I have each set of Project Life kits separated with cardstock dividers and the name of the kit on the divider.  It works perfect for me.  Unfortunately I just don't have the space to store each set in the original box it comes in.

I have been doing a lot more knitting than anything.  I can do it while sitting in the living room with Shawn and the kids.  I can take it with me to the doctors or in the car to wait in the car line at the school!  It is very easy to take along so I get a lot more done.  I also meet with a knitting group every Wednesday night for knitting night at a local coffee shop!  So much fun!  Here are a few objects I have finished in the last month.
These are socks for Madison!  I think they turned out great.  They fit her perfect!
This black hat is for my hubby.  It fit perfect. It was my first hat!  I think it turned out awesome. My knitting friends all laugh because they say knitting hats are so much easier than socks.  But I learned socks first.
Madison's pink hat!  She loves it.  I hat to take out the decreases and add a bit more in length

This hat is Carli's Steeler's hat!  She loves Steelers.  Not real sure she will wear it as she is 15 and well that pretty much explains it.  But I wanted her to have something that I made her!

I am making a few more hats over the next few weeks along with a few more pairs of socks. And of course hopefully I will be working on my Project Life a bit!

Hope you all are staying warm!

Last of my 2013 socks

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a great New Years!  The girls and I traveled to Coudersport PA to surprise my mom and dad for their anniversary.  we were suppose to go to FL but our plans fell through and when they did my sweet hubby suggested we go and visit mom and dad.  It was a good time.  However after leaving I realized that it was the first time in many visits that I did not take any photos.  Oh, well that is okay.  We did have a great time though.

Mom and dad were surprised and I think pretty happy we showed up unannounced.  It was a long drive that day (the day after Christmas) but we got there with no problems by dinner!  It was nice spending some quality time with mom and dad and my brother.

I took knitting with me but I didn't get much done. I was hoping to get my socks done before New Years Day, but I didn't.  I got them all done but the heel.  But like I said we were spending time with the family so it was worth not getting my socks done by my goal and finishing a few days later.

I ended up finishing my sock on January 2.  The yarn is some my hubby got me and gave to me about a week or so before Christmas.  and here the are...

Love that they turned out with similar striping!  I used a dark gray color for the heel and toe as I wanted my stripes to match and didn't know if I kept using the striped yarn if the stripes would continue the way I wanted through the foot!  I am supper happy with how they turned out and since my hubby bought me the yarn...I am keeping these for myself!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a great weekend!

Birthday celebration

My family decided today was a good day for my birthday celebration.  My birthday is Christmas day but Christmas is just a bit to hectic with the kids to celebrate my birthday on Christmas.  And yes...I may be turning 39 this birthday but I still love birthdays.  Being diagnosed at 15 with cancer...and not knowing if another birthday will come, I am all about birthdays.  The more the better.  So bring them on!

The kids and me before having cake and opening presents!
The cake my hubby made me.  He is so awesome.  Not is it just a cake, it is a two layer all chocolate cake!  Just the way I like it.  The more chocolate the better!  And it couldn't have gotten better!

My gifts.  My hubby and kids are great gift buyers!  My hubby got me my knitting needles and needle case I wanted along with some more sock yarn.  I am a bit addicted to making socks.  I also got a snow globe from my daughter carli which has a picture of her and madison in it.  Then from Madison the new Ellen dancing CD.   I did have to tell Madison now that I have this CD I will be dancing around the house more than I already do!  She did not find it funny!

IT was a great afternoon.  Just spending time with the family!  Hope everyone is having a great winter break and everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to share a few things today from this week. I know some of my family sees and reads my blog and this is where they see pictures I post!

Madison had a Jump for Heart last night!  They did an obstacle course for the kids and they all got jump ropes.  Madison seemed like she was having a good time.

 Madison loves to hula hoop!

Doesn't Carli looked thrilled to be there?

Also today I finished my latest pair of knitted socks.  I so love making these.  They all told me I would be once I started to make them and now I am.  My latest socks are a pattern called Vanilla Latte and I found the pattern on Ravelry.  I love these socks!  I am wearing them today!  I love the striped yarn and they are so warm.  I also...learned how to do a after thought heel on these!  Yikes was I worried.  But all my knitting friends taught me well and I caught on pretty fast!

Thanks for stopping by.  Sorry if you were / are expecting to see cards/stamping/scrapbooking.  I am still taking pictures.  I just have not been motivated to do my paper crafting lately. Maybe a little in the future I will have more motivation to do more but right now I just don't have it!

Have a great day and weekend!
